Turn Developer Mode on
You must toggle Developer Mode on before ChatGPT will let you add a custom connector. Open Settings (the gear), go to Security & connections, then switch Developer Mode on. ChatGPT flags this as high-risk because custom connectors can read and act on your data, so add only ones you trust. Magif.ai is one you can.

ChatGPT shows an amber warning, “Custom MCP servers introduce risk,” that even mentions attackers stealing your data. ChatGPT shows this generic warning when you add a custom connector that isn’t in its own directory. It isn’t about anything ChatGPT detected in Magif.ai.
What this connector can and cannot access
- What it requests: A single OAuth scope,
connector, and no ChatGPT-side scopes. This lets ChatGPT invoke Magif.ai’s connector tools for your Magif.ai account only. It does not grant Magif.ai access to your ChatGPT account, email, files, or anything else in ChatGPT. - What it can see: Magif.ai receives the requests and details ChatGPT sends when you use the connector, not your ChatGPT account, your other conversations, or your device.
- What it can do: Every request is authenticated and resolves to your account only. The tools read data from your own account and can create, update, or delete only agents you own. They cannot access or modify another user’s data.
- What lasts: Only
delete_agentpermanently deletes an entire agent, and only one you own, on a paid account.
